IndiGo, India's largest airline, announced the launch of new direct flights between Bengaluru and Abu Dhabi, set to commence on August 1, 2024. The service will operate six times a week, excluding Tuesdays, the airline said in a statement.
With the launch of this route, IndiGo will operate 75 weekly flights from Abu Dhabi to 10 cities in India, further solidifying connectivity to the UAE's capital. This new addition aims to cater to the growing demand for travel between the two countries, supporting both tourism and business exchanges.
Flight 6E 1438 will depart from Bengaluru at 9:25 p.m. (local time), arriving in Abu Dhabi at 11:30 p.m. (local time). The return flight, 6E 1439, will depart Abu Dhabi at 12:30 a.m. (local time), arriving in Bengaluru at 5:45 a.m. (local time), operating daily except Wednesdays.
Vinay Malhotra, IndiGo’s head of global sales, highlighted the airline's commitment to providing affordable, on-time, and hassle-free travel experiences. “We are pleased to announce direct flights between Bengaluru and Abu Dhabi. Bengaluru is the tenth city on the IndiGo network to offer direct flights between Abu Dhabi and India. This new flight will further strengthen travel, trade, and tourism between India and the UAE by offering smooth and convenient options for business as well as leisure,” Malhotra said.
The new direct flight enhances the lives of the Indian diaspora in Abu Dhabi, who make up 38.20 percent of the city (3.91 Million population), by providing quicker and more convenient travel options. The increased connectivity also boosts economic opportunities, facilitating travel for professionals and entrepreneurs. With more flexible travel options, the Indian community can enjoy improved access to both personal and professional endeavors.
This new route reinforces IndiGo’s mission to enhance connectivity and provide seamless travel experiences, further promoting cultural and economic ties between India and the UAE.
