Indian Overseas Congress USA celebrates INDIA bloc’s performance in Lok Sabha elections

The theme of the celebration was ‘Victory of Democracy, Secularism, and the Constitution of India’.

The executive committee of the Indian Overseas Congress USA along with various chapters, gathered on June.19 to celebrate the Congress and INDIA alliance's performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections. The celebrations, held under the leadership of Mohinder Singh Gilzian, took place across New York, New Jersey, California, Washington DC, Chicago, and Texas.

The event also coincided with the birthday of Rahul Gandhi.

In New Jersey, the celebration was held at the Royal Albert Palace, organized by chapter heads of New Jersey, Telangana, Punjab and Andhra. This was led by Peter Kothari, Harkesh Thakur, Ram Gadula, Rajeshwar Reddy, Gurmeet Singh Gill, Siddhu, Srinivas Bhimineni, and Basha.

Pradeep Samala, the IOC USA Working President, presided over the function, with Juned Qazi, Councilman of Marlboro, and Veeru Patel, Councilman of Woodbridge Township, participating as guests of honor.

The theme of the celebration was "Victory of Democracy, Secularism, and the Constitution of India”. Pradeep Samala expressed gratitude to the Indian voters for exercising their right to vote, which limited the BJP to less than a simple majority, thereby compelling them to form an NDA coalition government.

Both Qazi and Patel emphasized the importance of democracy and opposition in nation-building. The event saw the participation of over 400 IOC members and Indian National Congress supporters.
