Indian-origin physician Dr. Ramesh Babu Peramsetty, well-known for his contributions to the medical field, was shot and killed in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The doctor, originally from the Tirupati district in Andhra Pradesh, India, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.

As a distinguished figure in the medical community, Dr. Peramsetty was the founder and medical director of the Crimson Care Network, which manages several local clinics.

The network confirmed his untimely passing in a Facebook post, saying, "As many are aware, we have been informed of Dr Ramesh Peramsetty's passing.
