Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra visited Washington DC, United States, from Apr. 10 to Apr. 12, 2024, with the objective of strengthening the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.

During his stay, Foreign Secretary Kwatra engaged in comprehensive discussions with various American counterparts, including Deputy Secretary Richard Verma and Deputy Secretary Kurt Campbell at the State Department.

The discussions weren't limited to the State Department; Foreign Secretary Kwatra also met with key officials from the National Security Council, Department of Defense, Department of Commerce, and Department of Energy.

The agenda encompassed a wide spectrum of issues, ranging from the bilateral relationship between India and the US to the burgeoning defense and commercial ties. Moreover, topics like supply chain resilience and current regional developments were thoroughly examined.



Foreign Secretary Kwatra's itinerary also included meetings with representatives from prominent think tanks and chambers of commerce. One significant event during his visit was a luncheon hosted by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) in honor of Foreign Secretary Kwatra. At this luncheon, discussions revolved around crucial sectors such as energy, technology, defense, aerospace, and financial services.

The conversations emphasized strengthening commercial ties between the US and India, particularly in domains like semiconductors, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and space technology. The overarching goal was to bolster India's manufacturing economy, fortify supply chains, and improve the ease of doing business environment
