The India Center Foundation ("ICF") and the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles ("IFFLA") have joined forces to work on collaborative initiatives that promote the next generation of South Asian talent to media executives, studios, and investors.

IFFLA also announced the appointment of Anu Rangachar as artistic director for the 22nd edition of the festival which will take place on June 27–30, 2024.

IFFLA and ICF, who have been working together for a long time, will collaborate closely to design and incubate an industry development program that will highlight South Asian creatives.

“We saw an opportunity to scale our work nationally as one of the leading supporters of emerging creative talent in the diaspora. By joining forces with IFFLA, we can bring much-needed resources to support the stories that need to be told in the media. Our stories,” said Priya Giri Desai, a co-founder of ICF.

Rangachar has been involved with the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival for the past 15 years, during which time she has led the festival's international program and developed numerous international partnerships. Prior to that, she worked with Rituparno Ghosh and Ashim Ahluwalia while attending a film school in New York City. She has been releasing prominent arthouse world cinema titles in the USA in addition to co-producing independent arthouse films in India.

“We are honored to be welcoming Anu to our team and cannot wait to work with her in developing exciting programs and meaningful partnerships in the future,” said IFFLA board chair Christina Marouda.

Commenting on the collaboration, she said “We are thrilled to officially team up with ICF. I have personally worked with the organization since its inception on multiple film festivals and media projects, and I have such respect for the way they have thoughtfully and strategically developed the organization and selflessly supported diverse creative output.”

“They have been a financial and creative partner to IFFLA over numerous festivals already, which makes this a natural fit. I have no doubt that we can bring even greater impact together,” she added.
