A prequel to the American Citadel series, which features Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden, Citadel Honey Bunny dives into the backstory of Nadia Sinh’s parents, transforming them into compelling characters entrenched in espionage.

The series, produced by Citadel executive producers, the Russo Brothers, and Indian filmmakers Raj and DK, follows stuntman Bunny (Varun Dhawan) and aspiring actress Honey (Samantha Ruth Prabhu) as they are pulled into a high-stakes world of action and espionage. As their past comes back to haunt them, the pair must join forces to protect their daughter Nadia. The ensemble cast includes Kay Kay Menon, Kashvi Majmundar, Simran, Saqib Saleem, Sikander Kher, Shivankit Parihar, and Soham Majumdar.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who plays Honey, described her role as one that felt “genuine and relatable” due to the series' focus on human skills over high-tech gadgets. “Everything about this world feels authentic,” she told ETimes. “By choosing the ’90s as the backdrop, there’s a greater dependence on human capabilities. It’s more about human wit and hand-to-hand combat, resulting in a very raw experience.”

With Citadel Honey Bunny, Prime Video expands its vision for the Citadel franchise, previously launched in the US and Italy, aiming to create a globally interconnected spy universe.
