Khanderao Kand, chief of Policy and Strategy at the Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS), has criticized the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) for not appointing Hindus as members despite their significant global population share. As a result of this lack of Hindu representation, the USCIRF has been publishing biased and one-sided reports on India and Hindus, he alleged.
The USCIRF on May.17 announced the election of three new members to its commission — Maureen Ferguson, Asif Mahmood, and Vicky Hartzler, along with the reappointment of Eric Ueland and Stephen Schneck.
