Indian billionaire Anand Mahindra reacts to US vlogger impressed by Indore’s cleanliness

Travel enthusiast Max McFarlin posted a video on X, which is now viral, expressing amazement at the cleanliness maintained in the Indian city.

Anand Mahindra, the chairperson of Mahindra Group, a Mumbai-based business conglomerate, reposted a video on his X account, showcasing the cleanliness maintained in the Indian city of Indore, as captured by US travel vlogger Max McFarlin. The viral video features a roadside eatery in Indore, where McFarlin expresses his amazement at the cleanliness maintained there.

The video starts with McFarlin giving viewers a tour of the eatery, emphasizing its immaculate condition. He points out how residents diligently maintain cleanliness, noting that used steel plates are placed in separate bins, and there is a small basin for handwashing. 

The travel vlogger highlighted the absence of paper or plastic use and observed that if anyone accidentally spills food on the street, they quickly pick it up and dispose of it in designated dustbins.

Anand Mahindra reposted the video on X on May.22, saying, "Cannot help dreaming: If this were to be replicated throughout the country."



This sentiment struck a chord with many, as the video swiftly garnered over 80,000 views and numerous reactions. Viewers lauded Indore for its cleanliness, pointing out that the city has consistently been recognized as the cleanest in India.

Many commented that Indore’s cleanliness is due to good governance as well as the residents’ commitment to keeping the city clean. 

Indore secured the title of the cleanest city for the seventh consecutive year at the 2023 Swachh Survekshan Awards.
