Indian Americans celebrate BJP’s state election victory

The results are a “reflection of the country's mood” the supporters said.

Following the Bharatiya Janata Party’s massive victory in three out of four states during the recent state elections in India, the party’s supporters in New York gathered to celebrate the win. 

The ruling party managed to hold on to Madhya Pradesh while also capturing Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. In the southern state of Telangana, the main Opposition party, Congress emerged victorious.

Describing the results as a “reflection of the country's mood”, Jagdish Sewhani, president of the American India Public Affairs Committee in New York, said, “People have voted for good governance and  performance. The results are reflection of mood of the country. “

“People voted for the Modi guarantee. It shows they trust Prime Minister Modi under whose leadership Bharat is growing economically, culturally,socially and strategically, “ he added expressing hope that under the current leadership India will be a 40 Trillion economy in the next 25 years.

“This is a semi final .Final will be next year and I’m confident that BJP will again be blessed by people of Bharat," he further said, referring to the General elections in 2024 and urged all the supporters in the diaspora to campaign for the BJP and its candidates in the upcoming elections. 

Dr Narinder Kukar, Chintu Patel, Dr Dipak Nandi , Sunil Hali, Amba Sharma, Dr Urmilesh Arya, Satvinder Satta , Kulbir Singh, Indu Jaiswal, Anju Sharma, Pinki Jaggi, Dr Pushp Bhansali , Dr Sanil Sarkar also spoke at the celebrations.
