Indian American named 2024 Small Business Person of the Year

The United States Small Business Administration (SBA) announced the recipients of the National Small Business Week (NSBW) Award 2024, celebrating individuals across states who fueled the nation’s economy.

Among the honorees was Indian-American Anil Boinapalli, CEO and co-founder of Sky Solutions, who was named as the 2024 State Small Business Person of the Year from Virginia.

He co-founded Sky Solutions in 2008 The Herndon, Virginia-based company specializes in helping businesses simplify complex procedures by offering technology solutions and connecting with customers. 

“This recognition holds immense significance to me, considering my journey from a remote village in South India to this remarkable achievement, which exemplifies the opportunities afforded in this great country,” Boinapalli wrote on LinkedIn.

Boinapalli previously served as Solutions Architect at CNSI, where he was responsible for developing new healthcare industry products and all aspects of software development. Prior to that he was with Fannie Mae and Harris Corporation. He completed his masters in Computer Science from Kakatiya University in India.

The NSBW Award Ceremony is scheduled to take place from April 28-29, 2024, at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Washington, DC. SBA Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman, the voice in President Biden’s Cabinet for America’s more than 33 million small businesses, will honor national and state winners. Subsequently, she will also embark on a roadshow tour from April 30 to May 3, recognizing small businesses in various cities.
