Indian-American Mitul Desai urges mental health prioritization at Desis Decide summit

The Care Hack co-founder and former US President Barack Obama's state administration employee, Mitul Desai, on May.15 spoke about how working on mental health among employees was a key factor to improve performance in the American public sector.

Desai was speaking at a panel discussion part of the Indian-American Impact organization's 'Desis Decide' summit, which also featured US Vice President Kamala Harris as a guest speaker.

"So, the public sector is different from the private sector in a number of different ways, but regarding this conversation, as many of you probably know in the public sector, whether you're at a government agency or a nonprofit, you sometimes are taking on the emotional energy of the people you're serving," Desai said at the panel while sitting alongside Kiran Ahuja, former Director, US Office of Personnel Management.
