Diaspora backs Mukesh Modi’s “Political War”
While the film is not cleared for release in India ‘Political War’ it released globally today

Indian American filmmaker Mukesh Modi, recently held a press conference for the release of his film, ‘Political War’ at the Metropolitan Restaurant in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York. The event saw participation from the Indian American community.
‘Political War’, a political fiction film explores the depths to which politicians go in the pursuit of power, with a backdrop of deception, fear-mongering, and the plight of fake news. The cast includes Prashant Narayan, Seema Biswas, Rituparna Sengupta, and others.
The film did not get clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification in India (CBFC) rendering it ineligible for a cinematic release in the country. However, the makers recently announced that the film will release globally today.
Highlighting the film's purpose at the conference, Modi stressed the need to shed light on external forces attempting to undermine India with the aid of self-serving leaders.
Commenting on the significance of the film, Vibhuti Jha, a banker and television anchor, urged the community in America to engage actively in the social and political life of their communities. Mohan Wanchoo, an entrepreneur and business leader, expressed disappointment at the Indian Censor Board's denial of screening rights, and emphasized the film's relevance in recent times.
India Day Parade of Long Island president Vimal Goyal and India Association of Long Island Pradip Tandon also called for Indian government intervention to allow all Indians to watch the film and judge its veracity.
Beyond ‘Political War,’ Modi also produced the upcoming film ‘Torn,’ a psychological thriller featuring Morgan Freeman’s son, Alfonso Freeman. Some of his other works include ‘The Elevator’ and ‘Bride of Zambai’.
