Indian-American body announces first-of-its-kind college scholarship for higher education
Selected candidates will receive up to $2,500 per year, the National Federation of Indian American Association has said.

The National Federation of Indian American Associations (NFIA), a leading nonprofit dedicated to Indian-American socio-welfare initiatives, has introduced its inaugural college scholarship program. This unique initiative aims to empower and support driven and academically accomplished students as they embark on their higher education journey.
The NFIA Scholarship program seeks to alleviate the financial strain on eligible students and their families. Successful applicants will be awarded up to $2,500 annually to cover tuition and qualifying fees while pursuing studies at accredited colleges, universities, or technical schools (up to a maximum of four years). Scholarship renewal for the same recipient is contingent upon an annual assessment of academic performance in accordance with NFIA guidelines.
“There are a significant number of merit and merit cum means scholarships available this year that are funded by our sponsors and supporters,” read an NFIA statement. “These awards are available to qualified Indian American students and/or descendants of people of Indian origin.”
These scholarship funds will be made available following the established procedures and prescribed requirements and guidelines. Interested applicants are requested to contact NFIA and obtain relevant application form to complete.

The selected applicants will be awarded scholarships before the start of their academic year (August 2024).
