India emerged victorious against Afghanistan in the third and final T20 International, after a double Super Over. This was India’s third continuous win against their counterpart.

Rohit Sharma, who secured a recird in the previous matches once again hit a record fifth T20I century that helped India clinch the match. After both teams secured identical 212 runs in 20 overs, the first Super Over took place. Failing to break the deadlock, both the teams played a second Super Over.

The Indian Captain secured the win alongside Rinku Singh, hitting sixes and changing the game around. Despite Afghanistan’s Gulbadin Naib and Mohammad Nabi giving tough competition, India performed a clean sweep against their opponents.

Jay Shah, secretary of BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) took to X to congratulate the team. “What an incredible game! After 2 back to back super overs India won the 3rd T20I and white-washed Afghanistan by 3-0! Rohit Sharma rewrites history as he smashes his 5th T20I century, Rinku Singh‘s outstanding half-century. Washington Sundar and Ravi Bishnoi taking wickets were key highlights of an outstanding performance.”
