The 2023 India International Science Festival (IISF) officially began on Jan 17, and will last through January 20, 2024. 22 countries are taking part in the event themed “Science and Technology Public Outreach in Amrit Kaal.”
The 9th edition of IISF is being organized by the Indian government's Department of Science and Technology (DST), with National Innovation Foundation-India, an independent organization, serving as the initiative's coordinating and implementing body.

The science festival aims to honor India's contributions to science and technology, seeks to promote scientific temper among young students and Indian residents, as well as to recognize the accomplishments of science enthusiasts.
A total of 17 events are planned for this edition to raise awareness among various societal stakeholders, IISF hosts a month-long series of outreach events in labs, schools, and R&D institutes. Space hackathon, student science village and a new age technology show are part of the event’s lineup.
The events are segregated equally over the span of 4 days, with 12 events scheduled for Jan 17, 13 events on Jan 18, 11 events on Jan 19, and 8 events on Jan 20.
