India highlights 17 initiatives contributing to SDGs during UNGA week
During UNGA week, the Reliance Foundation, ORF, and United Nations India presented two significant debates on the overall theme of India's journey towards SDGs.

A strong faith in the Indian approach and leadership to achieve Sustainable Development marked the underlying tone of two high-level discussions organized in New York by the Reliance Foundation, the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), the United Nations India office, and the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations.
As the world came together during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)week, a publication titled 'Ideas, Innovation, Implementation: India's Journey Towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was released. The book, a collaboration between the Reliance Foundation, the Observer Research Foundation, and the UN India office, highlights 17 lighthouse activities across 17 SDGs carried out by non-profit organizations and communities. The document emphasizes how implementing the proposals could accelerate progress towards the SDGs while also laying the groundwork for a post-2030 agenda.
Releasing the publication at the forum on 'Delivering Development: Journeys, Directions and Lighthouses', Ruchira Kamboj, Permanent Representative of India to the UN, said, "We refuse to make a choice between fighting poverty and protecting our planet; instead, we will pursue sustainable, inclusive, and equitable transitions that leave no one behind. In this spirit of fostering transparency and sharing best practices, I am delighted to announce that we have just released a comprehensive report Ideas, Innovation, Implementation: India's Journey towards the SDGs."
Speaking at the second panel on South Rising: Partnerships, Institutions and Ideas', India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that SDGs, green development, women-led development, and digital public infrastructure would determine global progress for the next decade and transition would be driven by the Global South.
Jagannatha Kumar, CEO of the Reliance Foundation, spoke about the importance of looking beyond 2030. Shombi Sharp, UN Resident Coordinator in India, discussed public, private, and multi-stakeholder discussions about the SDGs. Samir Saran, President of ORF, emphasized the necessity of drawing attention to the views of those who are marginalized in the globe.
