Republican presidential primary candidate Nikki Haley made an appearance at a rally in Los Angeles, a day after losing the Nevada primary despite being the only candidate on the ballot.
About 63 percent of the voters cast their ballots for “none of these candidates,” while 31 percent voted for Haley in the state.
During the rally in LA, Haley told her supporters that she is committed to continuing in the GOP primary up to Super Tuesday. She affirmed that she is in the race for the long haul, and does not mind taking the “wounds” the journey might bring, as long as she has her supporters by her side.
“We will outsmart, we will outwork and we will outlast, that is how we are going to win,” she said reiterating the ideas that she based her campaign on, including the importance of term limits and the need for appointing younger people to leadership positions.
At least 70 percent of Americans indicate they don’t want a Donald Trump vs Joe Biden rematch, Haley claimed at the rally. “Do we really want a country in disarray and a world on fire, and have our two candidates be in their 80s?” she said, adding that America needs someone who can put the country back together.
Haley also called out the Republican National Committee about their decision to announce Trump as their presumptive winner, which they dropped at the last minute. “America does not do coronations, we are a democracy,” she noted.
On February 6, the federal appeals court ruled that Trump does not enjoy absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for his actions following the 2020 presidential elections. In response, Haley called him out for not talking about the American people, debt, lawlessness in the country, and wars around the world. “All he does is talk about himself, and that is a problem.”
“Everything Trump touches is chaos,” she emphasized highlighting that Trump’s PACs spent over 50 million dollars on legal fees for his personal court cases.
