Fighter, a film directed by Siddharth Anand and starring Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, and Anil Kapoor, is scheduled for worldwide release on January 25, 2024, close to Republic Day. The cast shared on social media first look at the film, which featured two fighter planes, with the caption "Spirit of the Fighter.”
Both leads have previously worked with Anand. Roshan has collaborated with him on two films, Bang Bang and War, and Padukone has collaborated on Bachna Ae Haseeno and Pathaan.
The film, which has a budget of more than US$ 3 million (250 crore), also stars Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, and Sanjeeda Shaikh. Touted as the country's first aerial action film, it was officially announced on January 10, 2021.
The film is produced by Siddharth Anand, Jyoti Deshpande, Ajit Andhare, Mamta Anand, Ramon Chibb and Anku Pande under the banner of Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures. The music is composed by the duo Vishal-Shekhar and the rights are bagged by T-Series.
Talking about the film and making his debut as a producer under his production company Marflix, Director Anand had earlier shared, “Fighter is a dream project, and I am glad to have someone with Ajit Andhare’s (COO, Viacom18 Studios) vision to be partnering this with me.”
Anand expressed delight that Fighter follows the success of his previous film, Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, which broke box office records. In an interview with Pinkvilla, he said of the scale of action in both films, "We have gone on a different level.”
“The audience has not seen something like this before in India at all. It is something we have not attempted before. Certain things we are exploring are really special. Hopefully, it will just blow their mind,” he added.
