Houston Diaspora celebrate NDA victory in India election
The event, attended by 400 people, was held at the GSH, inaugurated by PM Modi in 2019.

The Indian American community in Houston held a celebration to commemorate the Bharatiya Janata Party–led National Democratic Alliance’s performance in the recently held Lok Sabha Elections in India.
Having secured the majority, Prime Minister was chosen to lead the alliance and form government. He will be sworn into office as Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive time on June 9.
Around 400 people comprising of community leaders, volunteers and members of the Indian diaspora participated in the event. The event started with a presentation by the local team on the performance of the BJP in the elections.
Speeches of PM Modi and his alliance partners Chandra Babu Naidu and Nitish Kumar were also showcased to the audience. Ramesh Shah, a community leader, spoke to the audience about his campaign efforts in more than 110 villages in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
Victory Party at GSH center / Courtesy PhotoHe stated that during his travels, he consistently observed and received reports from the villagers regarding the progress achieved under the leadership of Narendra Modi, particularly in relation to the distribution of gas cylinders through the Ujjwala scheme and the implementation of the Jan Dhan Yojana.
Megha Raja and Shalini Kapoor highlighted the phone call campaign that was carried out in Houston and involved volunteers staying up all night to call individuals in India in order to promote the development work that has been carried out by Prime Minister Modi. Sravanthi Tirunagari demonstrated how an app was created in a matter of days with the assistance of volunteers, and how efforts to contact people were digitized.
Sambit Pradhan and Swagatika Nayak - two representatives from Odisha - spoke about the breakthrough of BJP in their state in forming a government there and reasons behind the success. A speaker named Haku Israni, who was instrumental in organising LK Advani's inaugural BJP event in Houston, highlighted the significance of media coverage. It is critical to address and rectify the bias present in prominent western media, he asserted.
Volunteers who travelled to India, Ramesh Shah, PV Patel,Sudhi Seshachala, Prasad Gurajala and Punit Shah, to lend a hand with the campaign shared stories of the impact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiatives had on them. Finally, the event coordinator, Achelesh Amar, especially recognized the hard work of the volunteers.
One of the few yoga instructors in Houston in the 1980s, Suresh Patel, spoke on the significance of International Yoga Day and the part played by Prime Minister Modi in establishing it.
