Horror comedy film ‘Stree 2’ trailer out

‘Stree 2’ will see the return of the original cast of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor.

Nearly six years after the original horror comedy film “Stree" released, the makers have announced its sequel that is set to release on Aug. 15.

The trailer of “Stree 2” was released on July 18 featuring an electrifying blend of horror and comedy that fans eagerly await. The sequel brings back the Chanderi gang and introduces a new adversary, SARKATA.

 

Commenting on the upcoming film, producer of Maddock Films, Dinesh Vijan said, “The first Stree was a defining film in Maddocks filmography while Stree 2 will cement the entire universe. It answers all the questions that Stree 1 raised and also shows the connections. It is a landmark film for us, especially in terms of the VFX and the world-building that has happened.”

“This one is funnier, bigger, a visual spectacle and it’s got all our characters and some new special angles. This is the most important film we are putting out there and our biggest,” he added.

‘Stree 2’ will see the return of the original cast, including Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor along with Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee. ‘Following the release of the trailer for "Stree 2," the film’s first song, "Aaj Ki Raat," has also been released. This dance track features Tamannaah Bhatia of “Kaavaalaa fame” and echoes Basanti's iconic dance from Sholay.

Sung by Madhubanti Bagchi and composed by the dynamic duo Sachin-Jigar, "Aaj Ki Raat" is a captivating track choreographed by Vijay Ganguly, and poised to follow in the footsteps of the viral hit "Oo Antava."

Music composers Sachin-Jigar shared their excitement stating, "After Kamariya and Milegi Milegi created magic for Stree, we had to go all out for 'Aaj Ki Raat' to deliver a track that’s as fun and energetic. With Tamannaah's killer moves coupled with brilliant choreography, we believe this song is going to be a crowd favourite."
