HindiUSA exposes students to vibrancy of Indian festivals

Earlier this month the students and staff of the HindiUSA Saint Louis, a non-profit Hindi language school that promotes Hindi language and Indian culture, celebrated Diwali and Navratri festivals at the Hindu Temple of Saint Louis’s Cultural and Educational Center.
The event began with a prayer to Goddess Durga, performed by the founder and school coordinators, Mayank Jain and Dr. Anshu Jain. Linda, the president of the African Chamber of Commerce, attended the event as a special guest. Originally from Nigeria, Linda applauded the efforts of HindiUSA Saint Louis's students and teachers, and shared her respect and admiration for Indian culture and customs.

The event featured cultural performances, fireworks, food and shopping stalls, raffle prizes, and a festive atmosphere. The highlight was the dandiya dance, a traditional folk dance from Gujarat that involves the use of colorful sticks and rhythmic movements.
The sky was lit up with brilliant colors in a spectacular fireworks show for the Diwali celebration. Students had the opportunity to win exciting fountain fireworks in a raffle draw, and there was also a rangoli competition.
“The event was a huge success, as it showcased the rich and diverse culture of India, as well as the talent and dedication of the students and staff of the HindiUSA Saint Louis. The event also fostered a sense of community and belonging among the participants, as they shared their joy and gratitude for the festival<” the organization said in a statement.
