ZEE5 Global, the world's largest streaming platform for South Asian content, has announced that HanuMan, the film starring Teja Sajja, ranked as the second-biggest Telugu movie to premiere on its platform till date, following the monumental success of RRR.
The Telugu superhero film released in theatres on January 12, 2024. It is set in the fictional village of Anjanadri, a dystopian hamlet, and is based on Hanumanthu, who gets the power of Lord Hanuman to save the people of the village.
Since its launch, HanuMan has contributed to nearly 60 percent of the platform's subscriptions from the US alone and led to an increase in the overall Telugu content viewership on ZEE5 Global, an official statement noted. Additionally, 'HanuMan' became a global success, trending on ZEE5 Global in key markets like the USA, UK, UAE, Canada and Australia.

The film is produced by Primeshow Entertainment. It also features actors like Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Raj Deepak Shetty, and Vinay Rai. Also, it is the debut film in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), a superhero film franchise. 'Jai HanuMan,' the title of the sequel, appeared in the film's end credits.
