Mona Das, a prominent Democratic candidate for Washington Commissioner of Public Lands and former State Senator, was announced as the new head of International Expansion for Global Woman & Co., an organization founded by entrepreneur and bestselling author Mirela Sula.

An organization devoted to developing women entrepreneurs throughout the world, Global Woman & Co. includes an online membership and business school tailored for aspiring women entrepreneurs, a podcast, a magazine, a TV platform, an annual conference, and clubs in over 35 cities worldwide.

Reacting to the appointment, Das said, “I’m thrilled to accept this global leadership position allowing me to help increase engagement of women entrepreneurs, improve access to capital and connect leaders who are building climate resiliency in their communities and around the world.”

In her new capacity, Das will aim to elevate women's environmental leadership, empowering women globally to take local action against climate change. According to a release, her focus aligns with her company’s mission to provide a platform for women to share ideas, foster resilience, and create positive change.

Announcing the appointment Sula said, "Mona Das is a leader who brings other women along with her, particularly women of color. We’re thrilled to have her on the team to help expand our mission in the United States and beyond."

If elected as Washington State Commissioner of Public Lands, Das would become the first person of color in the United States to hold a statewide position. As of yet, she has successfully banned certain plastic products and has initiated climate resilience projects.

Moreover, she also serves on the faculty at the Campaign School at Yale University and Bard College. As a small-business owner with an MBA in sustainable business, she is dedicated to environmental causes. She is committed to amplifying women's voices on the global stage.
