Gatka Federation USA to host National Gatka Championship in New York
It will be first-ever National Gatka Championship to be held in the United States

Gatka Federation USA-an umbrella organization to manage, standardize, promote and popularize the Gatka-Sikh Martial Art in the USA is hosting its first ever National Gatka Championship-USA on October 28 2023 at The Sikh Center of New York Inc.
Organised under the aegis of the World Gatka Federation (WGF)-an apex international body for preserving & promotion of Gatka, the event will be first ever open National Gatka championship in the United Statesm
S. Kalvinder Singh California, president of Gatka Federation USA and finance Secretary of WGF informed that the Championship will include several categories, ranging from under 14 demonstration as well as under 17 and 21 age groups combat fights in both men and women categories.
He emphasized that the aim of the event is “to bring all Gatka players, coaches, referees and judges at one platform, & preparing them for upcoming National Gatka tournaments, seminars and other International Gatka Championships.”
National Gatka champion Daler Singh, president, Baba Makhan Shah Lobana Sikh Center and Jaskirat Singh Joint Secretary of New York Gatka Association stated that the championship will also help to spread awareness about Sikh Martial Art and introduce the young generation to this rich cultural heritage of Gatka
Players from various Gatka Federation state chapters will participate in the different age categories.
