The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the Team of the Year for 2023, recognizing 11 cricketers, both men and women, who left their mark in the T20I format last year.

The men’s list of the ICC Team of the Year 2023 included four Indian players, including Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, and Arshdeep Singh, while the women’s list featured Deepti Sharma.

Jaiswal, known for his skills in Test cricket, made a debut on the international stage against the West Indies in August 2023. The left-hander scored 430 runs in 14 innings, at a strike rate of 159.

His notable innings included 84 runs off 51 balls in Florida, a century against Nepal in the Asian Games, and mentionable performances against Australia and South Africa.

Yadav made it to the list for the second time. He took on captaincy after Rohit Sharma had taken a break this year, ending the season with a century against South Africa in Johannesburg.

Bishnoi claimed the top spot in the ICC T20 Bowling Rankings by 2023 end. He claimed 18 wickets in 44 overs in the year.

Singh claimed 26 wickets in 21 appearances, leading the bowling front in matches against New Zealand, the West Indies, and the Asian Games.

Sharma proved to be an all-rounder, showing her prowess in both batting and balling. The off-spinner claimed 21 wickets in 17 outings in 2023 and scored 106 runs at a rate better than a run per ball.
