Federation of Indian Associations honors unsung women and unveils ‘Star Awards’ in Chicago

The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) Chicago, in collaboration with Desi Junction, hosted a Mother's Day celebration on May.19, at Ashyana Banquets at Downers Grove. The event honored the strength and love of mothers, the real unsung heroes, while also unveiling the prestigious ‘Star Awards’ program.
The evening began with a vibrant social hour, followed by a program filled with music, speeches, and recognition. Payel Ganguly & Group captivated the audience with melodious Bollywood songs about motherhood and families.
FIA leaders, including Sunil Shah (chairman and founder), Neil Khot (vice-chairman), Pratibha Jairath (president), and Vinita Gulabani (former president), took the stage to address the audience. While Shah highlighted FIA's achievements, Jairath emphasized the importance of Mother's Day, Khot hinted at upcoming surprises, and Gulabani shed light on FIA's community service efforts.

The highlight of the evening was the Mother's Day awards ceremony, where extraordinary mothers like Anandita Ghosh, Riya Krishnamoorthy, and Dr Kruti Vyas were honored for their dedication and sacrifices.

Esteemed First Lady of FIA, Rita Shah, added a special touch with a heartwarming song celebrating mothers. The evening was further enriched by captivating dance performances and a lively open dance floor.

The Star Awards will culminate in a grand red-carpet event on Aug.16, at the Matrix Club, celebrating India's 78th Independence Day with elegance, cultural richness, and a touch of wow factor.
