FCDO hosts first Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas celebration in Scotland

The Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) hosted its inaugural Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas celebration in  Glasgow, United Kingdom, marking a significant occasion in strengthening ties between Scotland and India. 

The event was attended by the Indo-Pacific Minister, Catherine West, who emphasized the importance of the "living bridge" that connects the two nations, highlighting the potential for mutual growth and collaboration.

Attendees from the Glasgow Indian community were among those honored at the special reception, which was hosted by the Minister of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs. They expressed their appreciation for the warm hospitality and the opportunity to celebrate these significant festivals of light together.

The event underscored Scotland’s growing connection with India and its increasing importance in the UK’s diplomatic outreach.
