Dr. Jaishankar highlighted the importance of the 35-million-strong Indian diaspora in India’s progress. “Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is more than a celebration; it is an invitation to action,” he said, adding that the Government of India has consistently prioritized the diaspora’s welfare under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. “The strength of our diaspora provides us with a strong foundation to address global challenges effectively,” he noted.
On X, Jaishankar shared, “MEA is proud to partner with Odisha to welcome our diaspora to Bhubaneswar. Our biennial #PBD is a longstanding occasion to renew bonds and develop friendships.”
The new website will serve as a one-stop portal for delegates, offering registration, accommodation options, and details on Odisha’s cultural landmarks. The event’s three-day schedule will feature a Youth PBD segment with the Ministry of Youth Affairs, thematic plenary sessions, and exhibitions that showcase India’s tradition and technological advancements.
Encouraging broad participation, Jaishankar emphasized, “The success of the PBD hinges on diaspora engagement in large numbers. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the Temple City of Bhubaneswar.”
