AI firm Cyara promotes Rishi Rana as CEO

As CEO, Rana will lead global expansion and customer-focused innovation in CX industry.

California-based artificial intelligence (AI)-driven customer experience transformation company, Cyara, has appointed Indian-American product strategist Rishi Rana as its chief executive officer (CEO). 

Rana, who has previously served as Cyara’s president since August 2023, will succeed outgoing CEO Alok Kulkarni. According to the firm, Rana’s romotion at Cyara marks a strategic shift toward leveraging next-generation AI to drive customer experience (CX) innovations through partnerships and acquisitions.

Before joining Cyara, Rana held senior leadership positions at PowerSchool, where he played a key role in shaping the strategy and growth of three distinct business units, significantly contributing to the company’s multi-billion-dollar valuation. He brings a wealth of experience in scaling global business operations with a strong focus on customer-centric growth.

"The team's dedication to ensuring our customers can deliver flawless customer experiences has set a strong foundation for growth and innovation. I look forward to building on this legacy, accelerating our momentum, and working with our talented teams and valued customers to take Cyara to new heights."

Alok Kulkarni, Cyara’s outgoing CEO, expressed confidence in Rana’s vision, saying, "I am excited to see Rishi become our new CEO, and as non-executive chairman of the Board, I look forward to providing strategic oversight, strengthening board alignment, and deepening relationships with key stakeholders."

Lead independent board director Vikram Verma also said “Very few people could have achieved what he has done to get Cyara to this remarkable stage of growth, and we are appreciative for his ongoing involvement as we continue our journey under Rishi's leadership.” 

Raised in Ranchi, India, Rana pursued his BS and MBA from the Texas A&M University.
