Diaspora celebrate Chandrayaan-3 landing at Times Square

Spirits were high as members of the Indian diaspora cheered and danced to the sound of drums.

 India's Chandraayan 3 lunar mission successfully soft landed at the moon's South Pole, and the local Indian community in Times Square gathered to celebrate. Attendees included the Deputy Consul General, Varun Jeph, as well as dignitaries Harish Thakkar, Ajay Patel, Ravi Jargarh, and Chandra Sukhwal.

The event was coordinated by Prem Bhandari, chairman of Jaipur Foot USA and president of the Rajasthan Association of North America (RANA). He stressed the importance of this accomplishment as a source of pride for all people everywhere, not just India and restated Indian commitment to the principle of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," which states that all people are members of one global family.

“The successful landing of Chandraayan 3 is a testament to India’s dedication to space exploration and technological advancement. The joyous celebrations in Times Square echoed the sentiment of unity and shared pride,” a release stated.
