Richard Verma, the highest ranking Indian American in the State Department is visiting Cameroon, Ethiopia, and Angola – from April 21 to 25 -- carrying forward the agenda of US President Joe Biden to strengthen ties with Africa in view of the increasing aggressive diplomacy from China.
In Cameroon, Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard R. Verma met with senior Cameroonian government officials, public health partners, and civil society leaders to discuss US-Cameroon cooperation in the areas of health, peace and regional security, and sustainable economic growth.
“Cameroon’s many rich customs and traditions across its regions are what makes this country Africa in miniature. I so appreciated the chance to experience firsthand one of the several traditional dances that make up this beautiful nation,” Verma said.
