Deakin University, a prestigious Australian institution ranked in the top 1 per cent globally, and Symbiosis International (Deemed University) SIU, a prominent higher education institution in India catering to foreign students since 1971, introduced an enhanced phase of their successful collaboration.
As part of the partnership, both universities will introduce a dual degree program in business administration/analytics and an accelerated master's program in liberal arts.
The partnership will create fresh opportunities for student mobility, particularly benefiting Indian students pursuing liberal arts and business administration/analytics.
The dual degree arrangement enables students enrolled at Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Bengaluru (SCMS-B), a part of Symbiosis International, to seamlessly transition to Deakin University. This transition comes with acknowledgement of the prior learning and coursework completed at SCMS-B. After completing two years at each institution, students will be awarded dual degrees.
“Taking our partnership of over two decades forward, we shall continue to achieve our goals of education beyond borders and mutually beneficial collaborations, which form the cornerstone of bilateral linkages between Australia and India,” said professor Iain Martin, president and vice-chancellor of Deakin University.
"Symbiosis is guided by the vision of promoting international understanding through quality education and Deakin has rendered valuable partnership in offering global learning, skilling and research opportunities for our students. Much has already been achieved and with the current extension of our partnership we look forward to brighter prospects of student/faculty mobility, knowledge engagement and exchange, and enhanced multicultural understanding and global citizenship," said professor S B Majumdar, founder and president of Symbiosis Society and Chancellor of SIU.
