‘Crew’ records 2 million opening, sets record

Notably, 'Crew' has etched its name in the annals of cinematic history by securing the "highest-ever opening for a three-female lead film worldwide".

Bollywood's latest release, 'Crew', featuring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon, made an impressive debut at the box office, raking in US$ 2.3 million (INR 20 crore) world-wide on its opening day.

Notably, 'Crew' has etched its name in the annals of cinematic history by securing the "highest-ever opening for a three-female lead film worldwide".
Producer Ektaa Kapoor took to Instagram to announce the news.  "Thanku INDIA !!!! My girls and our director showed the world how it’s done!!! World wide dhamaka! (sic)." 

The film, which hit screens on March 29, follows the story of three friends working as cabin crew members for Kohinoor Airlines, whose lives take a chaotic turn when they become embroiled in a complex situation.

Directed by Rajesh A Krishnan, the film boasts a diverse cast including Diljit Dosanjh in a pivotal role and Kapil Sharma in a cameo appearance. With a release across 2000 theaters and premieres in over 75 countries, spanning 1100 locations, 'Crew' has made a significant mark on the global cinematic landscape.

Kareena Kapoor Khan, echoing Kapoor's sentiments, expressed her excitement for the project, stating, "Round 2 with @rheakapoor, @ektarkapoor and me… What started with Veere Di Wedding and now continues with CREW (red heart emoticons) So lucky to be on board with these lovely ladies @kritisanon, @tabutiful & the amazing @rajoosworld We got this!"



'Crew' is a collaboration between Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, who previously worked together on 'Veere Di Wedding'. Kapoor celebrated the success of the film on Instagram, highlighting the fruitful partnership between herself and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

With its strong box office performance and promising storyline, 'Crew' is set to captivate audiences further in the coming days, solidifying its position as a notable addition to Bollywood's repertoire.
