Bangalore-based global venture capital fund, Chiratae Ventures, awarded Indian-American CEO of Adobe, Shantanu Narayen, the Global Lifetime Achievement Award during its annual Patrick J. McGovern Awards ceremony.
Narayen’s award reflects his nearly two decades of leadership at Adobe, where he has successfully transformed the company from a desktop software provider to a leader in cloud-based digital experiences.
Accepting the award, Narayen shared, "The Chiratae McGovern award is really about Adobe and the work of our 30,000 employees. We've always believed that innovation is at our core, customers are at the center of everything that we do and are central to our success. This award is really a testament in many ways to the power of technology to drive change and drive change for good."
Additionally, Infosys founder Narayana Murthy was honored with the India Lifetime Achievement Award, and Postman CEO Abhinav Asthana received the Exceptional Entrepreneurial Achievement Award.
Abhinav Asthana, who founded Postman in Bangalore and later expanded to San Francisco, expressed gratitude to his co-founders and employees for their unwavering support. “This recognition belongs to all of them,” he said during his acceptance speech.
Murthy’s award recognized his pivotal role in democratizing wealth through Infosys, which became the first Indian company listed on NASDAQ in 1999. “I am grateful to be recognized alongside such extraordinary personalities,” he remarked.
The awards dinner in Palo Alto, California attracted over 50 senior professionals from the tech industry, recognizing the significant impact of these leaders on the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Established in 2016, the awards commemorate Patrick J. McGovern, anchor investor of Chiratae’s first fund and the founder of International Data Group.
The selection process involved rigorous vetting by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP, ensuring the recognition of exemplary leaders in the industry, a release stated.
