Ram, who won a silver medal in mixed doubles at the 2016 Rio Olympics with Venus Williams, will compete in Paris with Austin Krajicek, his Davis Cup teammate. The mixed doubles field for Paris will be confirmed shortly before the event, featuring players already qualified in singles or doubles.
Ram's achievements in tennis include winning four Grand Slam doubles titles and achieving the world No. 1 doubles ranking. He has been a prominent figure in doubles tennis and has also been a consistent performer in Davis Cup matches.
Carmel recognized Ram and four other local Olympians by naming streets after them near the Midtown Plaza commercial area. Swimmers Aaron Shackell, Alex Shackell, Drew Kibler, and swim coach Chris Plumb.
The honor not only celebrates the athletes' accomplishments but also aims to inspire the Carmel community and future athletes.
