Canada-based singer’s Indian show cancelled
The announcement came amid calls for the show to be cancelled after the singer-rapper allegedly expressed support for the Khalistani movement in March

The upcoming India tour by Canada-based Indian rapper and singer Shubhneet Singh was called off on September 20. Known by his stage name Shubh, the artist was scheduled for a three-month, 11-city India tour starting with three shows in Mumbai from September 23 to 25.
Earlier this year, Shubh stirred controversy with his online activity after which many alleged that he supported Khalistani elements. In Marcch, the 26-year-old artist reportedly posted two stories on his Instagram account featuring a map of India showing all states except Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.
The distorted map sparked widespread outrage against him on social media platforms. However, the calls to cancel Shubh's tour grew louder after Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, on September 19, blamed India for the June assassination of prominent Khalistani movement supporter, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, in Surrey.
“Singer Shubhneet Singh’s Still Rollin Tour for India stands cancelled. To that end, BookMyShow has initiated a complete refund of the ticket amount for all consumers who had purchased tickets for the show. The refund will be reflected within 7-10 working days in the customer's source account of the original transaction,” the ticketing site for the tour wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter. It did not state a reason for canceling Shubh’s Still Rollin tour.
Khalistan is a proposed land within India for Sikhs, and the Khalistani movement is a separatist movement that seeks it. In 2020, the Indian government designated Nijjar as a terrorist. The country has denied any involvement in his death.
