Holi, the festival of colors, was celebrated on March 22, 2023, at the Amrita Sher-Gil Cultural Centre (ASCC), Embassy of India in Budapest, Hungary. The event drew a vibrant and diverse crowd, including India enthusiasts in Hungary and members of the Indian community.

Holi, also known as the Festival of Colours, is a significant and joyous occasion in Indian culture that represents the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of Spring.

People from all walks of life attended the event /

Typical Holi festivities included traditional Indian music and dance performances as well as the carefree splashing of colors by participants.  The event drew people from various backgrounds, fostering friendship and camaraderie among attendees.

Welcoming the guests, director of ASCC, Dr. Mukesh Kumar Srivastava shared the importance of Holi festival. He said,"Holi is a festival that transcends boundaries and brings people closer. As we immerse ourselves in the vibrant colours of Holi, let us also remember the values it represents – love, friendship, and inclusivity. Let this festival strengthen the bonds of friendship and understanding between our nations and communities."

Amrita Sher-Gil Cultural Centre aims to promote cultural exchanges and strengthen ties between India and Hungary through various cultural events and initiatives.
