Texas-based technical professional services firm, Jacobs announced the appointment of Indian American CEO Bob Pragada as chair of the board, effective after the company completes the separation of its Critical Mission Solutions and Cyber and Intelligence businesses.
Pragada, who takes over from Steve Demetriou, who has been the chair since 2016, will become the fourth chair in the company's history. "We are excited to have Bob Pragada step into the role of chair," said Demetriou. "His leadership and experience have been instrumental in shaping Jacobs into the great company it is today.
Pragada has been with Jacobs since 2006, taking on various leadership roles before becoming CEO in 2023. His promotion to chair reflects his long-standing dedication to the company and his vision for its future.

I'm looking forward to continuing to work with our Board of Directors, our leadership team and our employees to deliver solutions for some of the world's toughest challenges. During his tenure at Jacobs, his notable achievements include Jacobs' acquisition of CH2M HILL and its investment in PA Consulting. Before joining Jacobs, Pragada held executive positions at Kinetics and Brock Group.
In his early career, Pragada was the first Indian American to graduate from the United States Naval Academy. He then served as an officer in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps for nine years where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Pragada is also active on several boards and advisory councils.
Pragada holds a B.S. from the United States Naval Academy and an M.S. from Stanford University.
