A mysterious explosion occurred behind the Israel embassy in central Delhi on Dec.26 evening, raising concerns among intelligence agencies and city police. While no casualties were reported, the situation became more serious when a letter addressed to the Israeli ambassador was discovered at the scene, containing threats of retaliation and revenge.
According to various media reports, a senior police official revealed that the letter contained anti-Zionist phrases as well as references to the sensitive geopolitical issues of Palestine and Gaza. While the motives behind the incident are unknown, authorities are investigating the matter.
A Delhi Police statement highlighted that forensic experts have already examined the explosion site, collecting potential exhibits with evidentiary relevance. These exhibits have been sent for further examination, indicating a thorough investigative process underway.
Meanwhile, the Israeli National Security Council (NSC) has described the incident as an “attack” and issued an advisory for its citizens in India. The advisory issued in Hebrew asks Israelis to avoid public events and crowded places while exercising caution in these areas.
