Recent opinion polls conducted by India TV-CNX suggest that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised for an unprecedented third consecutive term in power, with a strong victory expected in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections starting on April 19. The surveys indicate minimal impact from the Opposition's widely-publicized INDIA bloc, with projections suggesting that the coalition may only secure 94 seats.

Findings from the India TV-CNX Opinion Poll reveal a commanding lead for the BJP, with projections indicating a landslide victory of 342 seats. In contrast, the Congress party is anticipated to mirror its 2019 performance, potentially settling at an all-time low of 38 seats. This forecast comes as a blow to the Congress, which had managed a slight improvement from its 2014 tally of 44 seats, securing 52 in the subsequent elections.

In a prediction concerning the crucial battleground state of Uttar Pradesh, the survey paints a grim picture for Congress, foreseeing a complete shutout, while the BJP is expected to strengthen its grip with an estimated 73 seats. Additionally, BJP allies, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and Apna Dal (S), are projected to secure two seats each.

In Bihar, where Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, a key figure in the INDIA bloc, switched allegiance to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Congress is forecasted to clinch merely one seat. Meanwhile, the BJP is poised to secure 17 out of the state's 40 Lok Sabha seats, with the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) expected to claim 12 seats, as per the survey.

The BJP's dominance extends across several states, with comfortable victories anticipated in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttarakhand. Notably, the BJP is projected to bolster its presence in West Bengal, potentially increasing its seat count from 18 in the 2019 polls to 22 in the upcoming elections. The survey suggests that the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress may secure 19 seats.

Among regional parties, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is anticipated to win 18 seats in Tamil Nadu, while the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is projected to secure 11 seats in Odisha.

The opinion poll, conducted between March 1 and 30, encompassed all 543 constituencies, with a total of 179,190 respondents, including 91,100 males and 88,090 females.
