Bihar Diwas 2024 at New York

The East Coast Chapter of the Bihar Foundation US celebrated Bihar Diwas at the Consulate General of India, New York, in partnership with BJANA and CGI.

The celebration began with a message from the Bihar governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar’s congratulatory and best wishes message. The program demonstrated Bihar’s tourism destinations, cultural heritage, Madhubani paintings, and culinary delights. 

Binaya Pradhan, Consul General of India, NY, congratulated the Bihari diaspora on the occasion, sharing his affinity to Bihar considering he hails from Orissa. He further spoke about the illustrious leadership of Bihar, including Dr. Rajendra Prasad and scientist Aryabhata. 
Shortly after, Santa Mishra recited a self-composed 'Bihar Diwas' poem and FIA (NYNJCT&NE) president Dr. Avinash Gupta discussed the healthcare sector improvements, including the Bihar AIMS in Patna.

Sanjeev Singh, president of the Bihar Jharkhand Association of North America (BJANA), went on to underline the infrastructural development in Bihar and unexplored opportunities. At the same time, Rajnish Ojha, representing the Bihar Jharkhand Association of New England (BJANE), advocated for unity to make Bihar great again.

Alok Kumar, chairman of Bihar Foundation US East Coast, highlighted the recent opportunities in Bihar, including in information technology with a special mention of companies like Tiger Analytics and HCL Technology expanding their setup in Bihar. 

Dr. Krishna P Singh, founder & CEO of Holtec International, also explained the details of a 3000 Cr. ($361,026,092) deal in green energy, emphasizing the need for Biharis to contribute to the development of the state. He was recognized with the Bihar Vishwa Gaurav Samman for his contributions to the field of nuclear waste management during the ceremony. Upon receiving the honor, he spoke about his pride in being a Bihari and his commitment to bringing more green energy to Bihar. 

Amit Choudhary, COO at Wipro Limited, also received the honor, as he discussed the collective spirit of Bihar and its growth potential. Dr. Dinesh Ranjan, founder of PRAN Medical Group, highlighted the growing healthcare needs of underprivileged people in Bihar. 
Abhinave Atul, director of Nutrivet Farmcare, was the fourth honoree, recognized for his mission to provide medication to pet animals at a reasonable cost.
