Asian Indians of Hampton Roads names Paul Chhabra as Business person of the year

Jolie R. Spiers, executive director of the Hampton Roads Chamber selected Chhabra for the award, which honors outstanding business leadership among individuals of Indian origin.

Corporate vice president of Global Supply Chain at Applied Materials, Paul Chhabra, has been named the "Business Person of the Year" by the Asian Indians of Hampton Roads (AIHR), an organisation that promotes the cultural heritage of the people of Asian Indian Origin.

Jolie R. Spiers, executive director of the Hampton Roads Chamber selected Chhabra for the award, which honors outstanding business leadership among individuals of Indian origin.

Applied Materials, a leading American corporation that supplies equipment, services, and software for manufacturing semiconductor chips used in electronics, has benefited from Dr. Chhabra’s expertise in global supply chain management. He rejoined the company in 2022 and currently oversees global commodity, purchasing, and supply chain planning functions.

Accepting the award, Chhabra said, "I couldn’t have achieved this without the unwavering support of the Hampton Roads community and the heartfelt wishes and blessings from my family and friends, whether they’re here in the USA or across the globe."

With over 22 years of experience in operations and engineering leadership, Chhabra has also held senior roles at Ichor Systems and Franklin Electric. He holds degrees from the University of Illinois, Purdue University, and the University of California, Berkeley.

AIHR continues its mission of promoting the cultural heritage of Indian-origin individuals and recognizing leaders like Chhabra for their contributions to business and the community.
