Around 4,000 people showed up to pick mulberries off the trees at the Very Mulberry Farm in Brentwood California on the Saturday (May.11) of Mother’s Day weekend this year. “This is a Mother’s Day treat I gave myself,” said a mom of two, who was tasting mulberries for the first time.

Pink-stained lips looked up from beneath a hat, as the four-year-old sucked on the fruit her mother had picked off the tree. Pink juice dripped from her baby hands. Little silver bangles twinkled on her wrists. Mulberries are one of the most beloved Persian fruits.
