The American Urological Association (AUA) has recognised Indian American urologist, Dr Ajay K. Nangia with a presidential citation. He will receive recognition at the association’s annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas, in May.
The presidential citations are awarded to individuals, chosen by the association’s president, who have significantly promoted the cause of urology. Dr Nangia has been recognized for important contributions to the field of male reproductive medicine and surgery.
A professor of urology at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Dr Nangia is the only fellowship-trained male infertility specialist in the metropolitan Kansas City area with ten years of experience.
He is a member of the American Urological Association, Society of Male Reproduction and Urology, American Society of Reproductive Medicine, American College of Surgeons, and Society of University Urologists. He is also the president-elect of the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology (ASRM).
Earlier, the Indian American chaired the ethics committee of the American Society of Andrology and served as a liaison for the CDC (Center for Disease Control) for male reproduction.
Dr. Nangia gained his medical degree from St. Thomas and Guy’s Hospital Medical School in London, UK. After completing two years of research at Yale University, he completed his urology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and male infertility and microsurgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.
