Ajay Bhutoria, a leading Asian American community figure and National Finance Committee member for Kamala Harris's presidential campaign, has launched a new digital video to energize South Asian voters in key battleground states.

The Bollywood-inspired video, titled "I WILL VOTE FOR KAMALA HARRIS-TIM WALZ," is designed to appeal to South Asian communities in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, and North Carolina.

The video features the instrumental version of the A.R. Rahman song "Dil Hai Chhota Sa, Chhoti Si Asha" from the movie Roja. It draws on the song's themes of youthful dreams and aspirations, which Bhutoria says resonate with Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign. “Vice President Harris embodies joy and hope for our community. She’s running to build a future that moves beyond the divisiveness of Donald Trump,” Bhutoria said. "She represents hope for over 5 million Indian Americans. We are using Bollywood music to engage our community and ensure their voices are heard.”

Bhutoria underscored the significance of mobilizing the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community in the election. “This is the moment for us to unite and show our support for Kamala Harris,” he said. Bhutoria also revealed plans for more Bollywood-inspired videos to boost voter turnout for Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz.

Reflecting on the impact of similar videos during the 2020 election, including his viral "Nacho-Nacho" video, Bhutoria expressed confidence in the new campaign’s potential. “The South Asian vote could be the deciding factor in this election, and we are determined to make every vote count,” he said.

The video, conceptualized by Ajay and Vinita Bhutoria and produced by Ritesh Parikh of Awesome TV, includes messages in multiple languages such as Telugu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, and Urdu. Parikh emphasized the power of Bollywood to connect communities. “Bollywood has always connected people through stories, and Kamala Harris reflects that spirit by bringing people together. She brings joy and hope for all of us,” Parikh said.

With the election fast approaching, Bhutoria and his team are intensifying their efforts to mobilize voters. “The choice is clear between Kamala Harris’s vision for a better future and Trump’s divisiveness,” Bhutoria noted. “Thousands of South Asian volunteers are organizing, knocking on doors, and making calls to help win this race.”
