Actress Sonakshi Sinha named Grand Marshal for FIA’s India Day Parade

Adding to the star-studded lineup, Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi and actor-turned-politician Manoj Tiwari will also be guests of honor at the parade.

The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) has announced that Indian actress Sonakshi Sinha will be the Grand Marshal at the 42nd Annual India Day Parade. The event, touted as the world’s largest Indian Independence celebration outside India, will take place on Madison Avenue, New York, on Aug.18.

The FIA NY-NJ-NE took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the news and post a video message from the actress. "It is a great honor for me to represent India at this year's India Day Parade in New York. We will be celebrating India's independence and our rich culture. I am proud to embrace the idea of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,' where the whole world is one family. Let's come together to celebrate our diversity and show the world that our unity is unbreakable. Jai Hind,” Sinha said in the video.



Sonakshi Sinha, a noteworthy figure in the Indian film industry, has recently received praise for her performance in the series Heeramandi. She has previously appeared in renowned films including Dabangg, Lootera, and Akira, and is recognized for her strong screen presence and versatility. 

Adding to the star-studded lineup, Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi and actor-turned-politician Manoj Tiwari will also be guests of honor at the parade. Furthermore, Sonakshi Sinha's husband, Indian actor Zaheer Iqbal, has been invited as a VIP guest at the parade. 
 



The parade will feature a Ram Mandir tableau procession with 500 Ram Bhakhts, cultural programs, and a food fest that will showcase the wide range of Indian cuisine. The festivities will commence at 12:00 pm (local time) on Sunday, August 18, at E38th Street, Madison Avenue, New York.
