9-year-old Indian origin girl gets noticed by Priyanka Chopra

The Indian-origin singer expressed her gratitude to the renowned actress "for being a role model for all the brown girls."

Nine-year-old Indian-origin singer, Pranysqa Mishra, who sang the US national anthem at the inauguration of the US Open expressed her gratitude to role model Priyanka Chopra on X (formerly Twitter).

The official X page of US Open Tennis shared Mishra’s video which was captioned, “That's how you start a night session. 9-year-old Pranysqa Mishra nailed the National Anthem.” In reply, the young girl thanked the renowned actress for being a role model for all brown girls.

“Thank you @priyankachopra for being a role model for all the brown girls. An incredible moment as I performed the National Anthem at the opening night @usopen. This is a testament to the power of breaking barriers and pursuing dreams. #USOpen #RepresentationMatters,” Mishra wrote.

Responding to her tweet, Chopra wrote on X, “U were amazing @Pranquil.” Mishra made a striking appearance in a white dress adorned with ruffles and lace during her performance at the US Open's opening ceremony. Her rendition of the US national anthem left the crowd in awe of her remarkable talent.

Mishra's vocal talents have extended to singing the national anthem for various sports leagues, including MLB, NBA, NHL, and MLS games. Additionally, she had the privilege of performing the national anthem at the 2023 Billie Jean King Cup Qualifier tie between the U.S. and Austria.
