The 69th edition of the Filmfare Awards 2024 was held at GIFT City in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, spanning over two days. Hosted by the film director and producer Karan Johar, the event featured performances by film stars like Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Kartik Aaryan.
This year’s Filmfare honored contributions across various categories. Among the winners were ‘12th Fail’ for Best Film, Vidhu Vinod Chopra for Best Director (for‘12th Fail’), Ranbir Kapoor for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) (for ‘Animal’), and Alia Bhatt for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) (for ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’).

In addition to the main categories, other winners included Vikrant Massey and Rani Mukerji for Best Actor and Actress (Critics) respectively. Vicky Kaushal earned Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) for ‘Dunki’, and Shabana Azmi received the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female) for her role in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.’
Technical excellence was acknowledged as well, with awards for Best Cinematography, Best Background Score, Best Sound Design, and more. The winners included Avinash Arun Dhaware, Harshavardhan Rameshwar, and Kunal Sharma among others.
This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award was given to film director and producer David Dhawan for his significant contributions to Indian cinema.
The Filmfare Awards have been recognizing winners for artistic and technical prowess in the Hindi film industry since 1954.
