Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Executive to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to drive the acquisition of freelance journalists and decision-makers from media houses to our platform. This individual will play a crucial role in expanding our network, increasing platform usage, and driving overall growth.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Identify and generate new leads of freelance journalists and decision-makers from media outlets through various channels including LinkedIn, social media, email campaigns, networking, and industry events.
Conduct market research to identify potential leads and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities. Analyze industry trends to stay updated on potential growth areas.
Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies to engage potential leads. Utilize personalized communication to build relationships and convey the value proposition of 5WH.
Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to create and implement lead generation campaigns. Coordinate with the content team to develop materials that support lead generation efforts.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all lead generation activities in the CRM system. Track progress and adjust strategies as needed to ensure targets are met.
Prepare regular reports on lead generation activities and outcomes. Present insights and recommendations to senior management to optimize strategies.
Attend industry conferences, webinars, and other events to network with potential leads and promote 5WH.
Stay informed about best practices in lead generation and continuously refine techniques to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Skills Required:
Demonstrated success in lead generation, preferably within the media, journalism, or digital platform sectors.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate value propositions clearly and persuasively.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
Proficiency with CRM systems, lead generation tools, and marketing automation platforms. Familiarity with social media and digital marketing techniques.
Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Excellent networking and relationship-building skills. Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in lead generation, business development, or a related role. Experience in the media or journalism industry is a plus.
Proficiency with CRM software, lead generation tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with the journalism landscape and an understanding of the needs and challenges faced by freelance journalists and media outlets.
